Nightmares On Wax is a British electronic music project formed in Leeds in 1988 by George Evelyn, initially as a duo with Kevin Harper. The group is known for blending acid jazz, downtempo, nu jazz, and trip hop into a distinctive sound that emerged from the UK’s late-1980s and early-1990s dance-music scene. Over the decades the project has evolved into Evelyn’s solo vehicle, releasing a series of influential albums on Warp Records and touring worldwide. Its atmospheric grooves and laid-back beats have helped define the chill-out and downtempo genres while remaining a fixture in both club and festival settings.
