Bio

Evanescence is an American rock band formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1995 by singer Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. The group rose to global prominence with their 2003 debut album Fallen, which sold over 17 million copies and featured the hit singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal." Their sound blends alternative metal, gothic rock, and symphonic elements with Lee's distinctive vocals. Subsequent releases include The Open Door (2006), Evanescence (2011), and Synthesis (2017), the latter reworking earlier material with orchestral arrangements. The band has earned two Grammy Awards and multiple platinum certifications. Core members have included Lee, guitarist Terry Balsamo, bassist Tim McCord, and drummer Will Hunt.
