Bio
Runa Laila is a Bangladeshi playback singer who rose to prominence in the 1970s and has remained one of South Asia’s most celebrated voices. Trained in classical, ghazal and qawwali traditions, she became known for her wide vocal range and emotive delivery across film soundtracks and independent recordings. Active for over five decades, she has recorded in multiple languages including Bengali, Urdu, Hindi and Persian, and her work spans romantic ballads, devotional pieces and patriotic anthems. Her recordings continue to be reissued and streamed internationally, preserving her status as a leading figure in Bangladeshi and broader South-Asian popular music.
