Bio
My Chemical Romance is an American rock band formed in 2001 in Newark, New Jersey. Fronted by Gerard Way, the group rose to prominence in the mid-2000s emo and pop-punk scenes with their theatrical style and emotionally charged songwriting. Their breakthrough album The Black Parade (2006) became a critical and commercial success, earning platinum certification and establishing them as one of the defining acts of the era. After a 2013 breakup, the band reunited in 2019 and released their first new material in eight years. Their sound blends punk energy, gothic imagery, and arena-rock ambition.
