Alice In Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1987. The group rose to prominence as part of the early-1990s grunge movement, alongside Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden. Their distinctive sound blends heavy guitar riffs with vocal harmonies between guitarist Jerry Cantrell and late lead singer Layne Staley. The band achieved mainstream success with albums such as "Facelift" (1990), "Dirt" (1992), and the acoustic EP "Jar of Flies" (1994). After a long hiatus following Staley’s death in 2002, Alice In Chains reunited in 2005 with new vocalist William DuVall and have continued to record and tour.
