Bio
Freshlyground is a South African Afro-fusion band formed in Cape Town in 2002. Their sound blends Afro-soul, pop, and occasional electronic touches, anchored by lead singer Zolani Mahola’s warm, expressive vocals. The group gained international attention after collaborating with Shakira on the 2010 FIFA World Cup anthem “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).”
