Bio
The White Stripes were an American rock duo formed in Detroit in 1997, consisting of Jack White on vocals and guitar and Meg White on drums. Their raw, minimalist sound drew heavily from blues and garage rock traditions, often recorded with limited equipment to preserve an authentic, lo-fi aesthetic. The band achieved mainstream success in the early 2000s with albums such as White Blood Cells and Elephant, featuring hits like "Seven Nation Army." They disbanded in 2011 after releasing six studio albums.
