D12 (also known as The Dirty Dozen) is an American hip hop collective formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1996. The group originally consisted of six members—Eminem, Proof, Bizarre, Kuniva, Swifty McVay, and Kon Artis—and gained mainstream recognition with their debut album Devil's Night in 2001, which topped the Billboard 200. Their follow-up album D12 World (2004) also debuted at number one and featured the hit single "My Band." The group became known for their raw lyricism and humorous, often controversial content, with Eminem serving as the most prominent member. Following the death of Proof in 2006, D12's activity decreased, though the remaining members have continued to perform and release music sporadically.
