Lunatic was a French rap duo formed in 1994 by Ali and Booba. The pair emerged from the Paris suburbs and became known for their raw, street-oriented lyrics that reflected the realities of urban life in France. Their music combined aggressive flows with socially conscious themes, helping to shape the early French hip-hop scene. The group released their debut album Mauvais Œil in 2000, which included the hit single "Les Vrais Negros." Despite their short career, Lunatic's influence on French rap remained significant. The duo disbanded in 2003 when Ali and Booba pursued separate solo careers.
