Zap Mama is a Belgian world-music ensemble founded in Brussels in 1990 by Congolese-Belgian singer Marie Daulne. The group blends Central African vocal traditions with contemporary styles such as afropop, neo-soul, and jazz, often performing entirely a cappella or with minimal instrumentation. Over the years the lineup has evolved, but Daulne remains the creative force, leading the ensemble through numerous albums and international tours that highlight polyphonic singing and multicultural rhythms.
