Bio
Van Morrison is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born in Belfast in 1945. He first gained prominence in the 1960s as the lead singer of the band Them, known for hits like "Gloria," before launching a solo career that blended rock, blues, jazz, and Celtic influences. His 1968 album Astral Weeks is widely regarded as a landmark recording, and subsequent releases such as Moondance (1970) and Into the Music (1979) further cemented his reputation. Morrison is known for his distinctive voice and poetic, often spiritual lyrics. Over a career spanning more than five decades, he has explored a wide range of musical styles while maintaining a fiercely independent approach to recording and performing.
