Smerz is a Norwegian experimental electro-pop duo formed by Henriette Motzfeldt and Catharina Stoltenberg. The pair met while studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and have since developed a distinctive sound that blends electronic production with minimalist songwriting. Their work often explores themes of identity, emotion, and introspection through sparse arrangements and processed vocals. Smerz have released music on labels including XL Recordings and their own imprint, building a reputation for atmospheric, forward-thinking pop.
