Bio
Vern Gosdin (1934–2009) was an American country singer and songwriter known for his emotive baritone voice and traditional country style. Born in Woodland, Alabama, he began his career singing gospel and later moved into secular country music, earning the nickname "The Voice" for his distinctive vocal delivery. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Gosdin released numerous charting singles, including the hits "I Can Tell by the Way You Dance (You're Gonna Love Me Tonight)" and "Set 'Em Up Joe." His work often blended classic country with outlaw influences, and he remained a respected figure in the genre until his death in 2009.
