Joe Bonamassa (born May 8, 1977) is an American blues-rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Utica, New York. He began performing professionally at age twelve and released his debut solo album, A New Day Yesterday, in 1999. Over the following two decades he built a reputation for technically accomplished guitar work and a deep catalogue of blues, blues-rock, and classic-blues material. Bonamassa has issued more than fifteen studio albums, several of which reached the top of Billboard’s Blues Albums chart. He regularly tours worldwide, often performing with his own band or as part of collaborative projects such as Black Country Communion and Rock Candy Funk Party. His recordings draw on both traditional blues influences and modern production values, and he is widely recognized as one of the leading contemporary figures in the blues-rock genre.
