Bio
Jodi Benson is an American actress and singer best known for providing the voice of Ariel in Disney's 1989 animated feature The Little Mermaid and its subsequent sequels and television series. Born in Rockford, Illinois, she began her career in musical theater, appearing in Broadway productions such as Smile and Crazy for You before transitioning into voice work. Beyond Ariel, Benson has voiced characters in numerous animated films and series, including Thumbelina, The Secret of NIMH II, and the television adaptation of the Kingdom Hearts video-game franchise. She continues to perform in concert and has maintained a long-standing association with Disney, frequently reprising her signature role in specials and theme-park attractions.
