Bio

Ibrahim Ferrer was a Cuban singer renowned for his expressive voice in the genres of son cubano, bolero, and Afro-Cuban jazz. Born in San Luis, Cuba, in 1927, he began performing in the 1940s and became a prominent figure in Cuba’s vibrant music scene. Ferrer gained international recognition late in life as a member of the Buena Vista Social Club, whose 1997 album introduced his warm, emotive style to global audiences. He released acclaimed solo albums such as Buena Vista Social Club Presents Ibrahim Ferrer and Mi Sueño before his death in 2005.
