Cracker is an American alternative rock band formed in 1991 in Redlands, California, fronted by singer-songwriter David Lowery. The group emerged from the remnants of Lowery's previous band, Camper Van Beethoven, and quickly gained attention with their blend of rock, country, and punk influences. Their self-titled debut album in 1992 produced the hit single "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)," establishing them in the alternative rock scene. Subsequent releases like "Kerosene Hat" (1993) and "The Golden Age" (1996) further solidified their reputation, with songs such as "Low" and "Get Off This" becoming radio staples. Throughout their career, Cracker has maintained a dedicated following with their witty lyrics and eclectic sound.
