Bio
Paul Dombrecht (born 1948) is a Belgian oboist and conductor recognized for his work in Baroque and Classical repertoire. He studied at the Brussels Conservatory and later became a professor there, while also performing as a soloist and chamber musician across Europe. As a conductor, Dombrecht has led several period-instrument ensembles, including Il Fondamento, which he founded in 1989. His recordings for labels such as Accent and Harmonia Mundi feature both solo oboe works and orchestral programs from the 17th and 18th centuries.
