Anoushka Shankar is a British-Indian sitar player and composer born in London in 1981. She is the daughter of renowned sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar and began her musical training under his guidance at an early age. Shankar has released multiple albums that blend traditional Indian classical music with contemporary and cross-cultural influences. She has performed at major venues worldwide and collaborated with artists across genres, including classical, electronic, and world music. Shankar is also known for her work as a composer and for her efforts in preserving and promoting Indian classical music traditions.
