Daniel Hope

Bio

Daniel Hope is a British violinist born in Durban, South Africa, in 1974. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London and later with violinist Zakhar Bron. Hope has performed as a soloist with major orchestras worldwide and is known for his wide-ranging repertoire that spans from Baroque to contemporary works. In addition to his performing career, Hope is active as an artistic director and festival curator. He has recorded extensively for Deutsche Grammophon and other labels, receiving multiple awards for his recordings. Hope also maintains an active teaching schedule and has written several books about music and musicians.
