Demis Roussos was an Egyptian-born Greek singer and performer who rose to international fame in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the progressive rock band Aphrodite's Child. After the group disbanded, he launched a successful solo career, releasing a string of pop and schlager hits that showcased his distinctive operatic tenor voice. His most notable solo recordings include "Forever and Ever," "Goodbye My Love, Goodbye," and "My Friend the Wind," which became chart-toppers across Europe and beyond. Roussos continued to record and perform throughout his life, maintaining a devoted following until his death in 2015.
