Albert Hammond

Bio

Albert Hammond is a British singer, songwriter, and record producer born in London in 1944. He first gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s as a songwriter, penning hits for artists such as The Hollies, Julio Iglesias, and Tina Turner. His own recordings include the international hit "It Never Rains in Southern California," which reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1972. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Hammond has written or co-written over 600 recorded songs and has received multiple Ivor Novello Awards. He continues to perform and record, maintaining a presence in both the English- and Spanish-speaking music markets.
