Carly Simon is an American singer-songwriter and musician born in New York City in 1943. She first gained prominence in the early 1970s with a string of introspective, confessional songs that blended folk, rock, and pop elements. Her self-titled debut album and follow-up releases established her as a distinctive voice in the singer-songwriter movement. Simon achieved mainstream success with hits such as "You're So Vain," "Anticipation," and "Nobody Does It Better," the latter serving as the theme for the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me. Over a career spanning five decades, she has released more than twenty studio albums and earned multiple Grammy Awards, including for Best New Artist and Album of the Year.
