Bio
Loyle Carner is a British rapper and songwriter from south London, known for his introspective lyricism and jazz-infused production. Born Benjamin Coyle-Larner on 6 October 1994, he first gained attention with his 2014 EP *Lost Ones* and the 2016 single "No CD," which showcased his conversational flow and personal storytelling. His debut album *Yesterday's Gone* (2017) earned a Mercury Prize nomination and established him as a distinctive voice in UK hip-hop. Follow-up releases *Not Waving, But Drowning* (2019) and *Hugo* (2022) further explored themes of family, identity, and mental health, blending soulful samples with live instrumentation. Carner has also built a reputation for his engaging live shows and advocacy work around dyslexia and youth mental health.
