Al Campbell is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter born in Kingston in 1954. He began his career in the mid-1970s, initially performing with the group the Thrillers before launching a solo career that established him as a prominent figure in the roots reggae and lovers rock scenes. Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, Campbell released numerous singles and albums, becoming known for his smooth vocal style and socially conscious lyrics. His work spans traditional reggae, dub, and rocksteady, and he remains active in the Jamaican music community.
