Dan Black is a British singer, songwriter and producer from Buckinghamshire. He first gained attention as the frontman of the indie rock band The Servant before launching a solo career in the late 2000s. His solo work blends electronic production with pop songwriting, often described as "wonky pop." Black is best known for the 2009 single "Symphonies," which sampled Beethoven and became a European club hit.
