Bio

Björk Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, composer, and actress born in Reykjavík on 21 November 1965. She first gained international attention as the lead vocalist of the alternative rock band The Sugarcubes before launching a solo career in 1993 with the album Debut. Her work spans art pop, electronic, experimental, and trip-hop styles, often incorporating unconventional production techniques and collaborations with producers such as Nellee Hooper, Mark Bell, and Arca. Björk has released ten studio albums, including Post, Homogenic, Vespertine, and Vulnicura, and is recognized for her distinctive voice, innovative music videos, and contributions to film soundtracks such as Dancer in the Dark.
