The Flaming Lips are an American rock band formed in Oklahoma City in 1983. They are known for their experimental and psychedelic sound, combining elements of rock, pop, and avant-garde music. The group gained mainstream recognition in the 1990s with albums like "The Soft Bulletin" and "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots," which showcased their innovative production techniques and emotionally resonant songwriting. Led by frontman Wayne Coyne, the band has maintained a consistent lineup featuring Michael Ivins and Steven Drozd.
