George Harrison

Bio

George Harrison (1943–2001) was an English musician, singer-songwriter, and guitarist best known as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Born in Liverpool, he joined the band in 1958 and contributed distinctive guitar work and compositions such as “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “Something,” and “Here Comes the Sun.” After the Beatles disbanded in 1970, Harrison launched a successful solo career highlighted by the triple album All Things Must Pass and the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh. He continued recording and performing throughout the following decades, exploring Indian classical music, slide guitar, and themes of spirituality. Harrison also co-founded the Traveling Wilburys and remained active in film production and humanitarian causes until his death in 2001.
