Narciso Yepes

Narciso Yepes (1927–1997) was a Spanish classical guitarist born in Lorca, Murcia. He studied at the Valencia Conservatory and later in Paris with Ida Presti and others, developing a distinctive technique that included the use of ten-string guitars to enhance resonance and balance. Yepes gained international recognition in the 1950s and maintained an active concert and recording career throughout his life, performing both solo recitals and with major orchestras. His repertoire ranged from Baroque and Romantic works to contemporary Spanish music, and he is remembered for his precise articulation and expressive phrasing.
