Korn is an American nu metal band formed in Bakersfield, California in 1993. They rose to prominence in the mid-1990s with their self-titled debut album and are widely credited with helping pioneer the nu metal genre. Their sound blends heavy riffs, downtuned guitars, hip-hop influenced beats, and Jonathan Davis’s distinctive vocal style. Korn achieved mainstream success with albums such as Follow the Leader and Issues, both of which topped the Billboard 200. The band has sold over 40 million records worldwide and won two Grammy Awards. They have collaborated with artists including Ice Cube, Skrillex, and Slipknot. Korn continues to tour and release new music, maintaining a significant presence in the rock and metal scenes.
