Bio
Concerto Köln is a Cologne-based period-instrument ensemble founded in 1985. The group performs Baroque and Classical repertoire on historically informed instruments and has collaborated with conductors such as René Jacobs, Reinhard Goebel and Kent Nagano. Its recordings appear on labels including Archiv Produktion, Capriccio and Sony Classical, and it has toured extensively across Europe and North America. The ensemble is known for its energetic, theatrical approach to 17th- and 18th-century music and for championing lesser-known works alongside core repertoire.
