Bio
Jean Wiener was a French pianist, composer and conductor born in Paris in 1896. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and became known in the 1920s for his jazz-influenced piano duets with Clément Doucet. Wiener composed scores for numerous French films from the 1930s onward and also wrote popular songs and chamber music. His style blended classical training with jazz and popular idioms of the interwar period. He remained active as a performer and composer until his death in 1982.
