Bio

White Lies are a British post-punk band formed in Ealing, London, in February 2008. The group consists of Harry McVeigh (vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass, backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums). Their sound is characterized by dark, atmospheric guitar lines and introspective lyrics, drawing comparisons to 1980s post-punk acts such as Joy Division and Echo & the Bunnymen. The band gained early attention with their 2009 debut album To Lose My Life…, which reached the UK top-five and spawned singles including “Death” and “To Lose My Life.” Subsequent releases such as Ritual (2011), Big TV (2013), and Five (2019) have continued to explore themes of love, loss, and mortality while maintaining a cinematic, synth-tinged production style.
