Edda Dell'Orso (born February 16, 1935) is an Italian soprano singer from Genoa, renowned for her distinctive wordless vocal performances in film soundtracks. She gained prominence through her collaborations with composer Ennio Morricone, providing the haunting, ethereal vocals on numerous scores including Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and A Fistful of Dynamite. Throughout her career, Dell'Orso has worked with other notable Italian composers such as Piero Piccioni, Luis Bacalov, and Riz Ortolani, contributing her unique vocal style to both film and television music. Her voice became a signature element of the Italian film music sound during the 1960s and 1970s, and she remains celebrated for her contributions to the spaghetti western genre and Italian cinema soundtracks.
