Wheatus is an American rock band formed in Northport, New York, in 1995. The group is best known for their 2000 single "Teenage Dirtbag," which became an international hit and remains their signature song. Their self-titled debut album, released the same year, blended pop-punk and alternative rock elements and achieved commercial success in several countries. Over the years, Wheatus has continued to release music independently, maintaining a cult following particularly in the UK and Australia. The band’s sound is characterized by witty, often self-deprecating lyrics and a mix of guitar-driven rock with electronic touches. Frontman Brendan B. Brown remains the sole constant member, guiding the project through numerous lineup changes.
