Usha Uthup is an Indian playback singer and performer known for her distinctive voice and wide-ranging repertoire across multiple Indian languages. Born in Mumbai in 1947, she rose to prominence in the 1970s with her renditions of Western and Indian pop songs, often performing in nightclubs before transitioning to film music. She has recorded songs in over a dozen languages, including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam, and is particularly noted for her ability to sing in multiple regional dialects.
