Cheap Trick is an American rock band formed in 1973 in Rockford, Illinois. The group is known for its blend of power pop, hard rock, and glam influences, and for its energetic live shows. Their 1979 album Cheap Trick at Budokan became a landmark live recording that helped establish their international reputation. The band’s core lineup has remained stable for decades, featuring guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, drummer Bun E. Carlos, and vocalist Robin Zander. Hits such as "I Want You to Want Me," "Surrender," and "The Flame" have kept Cheap Trick in the classic-rock canon, and the group continues to tour and record new material.
