Bio
José González is a Swedish singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Gothenburg in 1978. He is known for his acoustic fingerstyle guitar playing and introspective songwriting, often blending indie folk with subtle Latin influences drawn from his Argentinian heritage. González first gained international recognition with his 2003 debut album Veneer, featuring the single "Heartbeats," which became a breakthrough hit. His subsequent releases, including In Our Nature (2007) and Vestiges & Claws (2015), have been praised for their sparse arrangements and emotional depth. Beyond his solo work, González is a founding member of the band Junip and has collaborated with artists across various genres. His music has been widely used in film, television, and advertising, cementing his reputation as one of Sweden's most distinctive musical exports.
