Bio
Ice-T is an American rapper, actor, and songwriter born Tracy Lauren Marrow on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey. He rose to prominence in the 1980s as a pioneer of gangsta rap, releasing influential albums such as "Rhyme Pays" and "O.G. Original Gangster." His work helped define West Coast hip-hop and addressed social issues through raw, street-level storytelling. Beyond music, Ice-T has maintained a long career in film and television, notably starring in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" as Detective Odafin Tutuola. He has also fronted the heavy-metal band Body Count, whose 1992 track "Cop Killer" sparked national controversy and debate over artistic freedom.
