He blends country, country rock, and country hip hop, often writing about small-town life, relationships, and personal struggles. Gilbert gained mainstream attention with his 2011 album Halfway to Heaven, which produced hits like "Country Must Be Country Wide" and "You Don't Know Her Like I Do."
