Bio

Bananarama is an English pop and dance group formed in London in 1979. The original line-up consisted of Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward, and Siobhan Fahey, who met while working at the London College of Fashion. They quickly became one of the most successful female groups of the 1980s, scoring multiple UK Top 10 hits including "Cruel Summer," "Venus," and "Love in the First Degree." The group experienced several line-up changes over the decades. Siobhan Fahey left in 1988 and was replaced by Jacquie O'Sullivan until 1991, after which Dallin and Woodward continued as a duo. Bananarama's sound evolved from their early hi-nrg roots to encompass a broader range of pop and dance styles, and they remain active with new releases and live performances into the 2020s.
