Bio
Pino D'Angiò (born Giuseppe Chierchia, 14 August 1952 – 29 July 2024) was an Italian singer, songwriter and musician from Pompei. He rose to prominence in the early 1980s as one of the leading figures of the Italo disco movement, blending funk, pop and electronic dance rhythms. His best-known track, "Ma quale idea" (1981), became an international hit and remains a staple of the genre. D'Angiò continued to release albums and singles throughout the decade, often writing and producing his own material, and maintained a presence in Italian pop culture into the 1990s and 2000s.
