The Mavericks are an American country music band formed in Miami, Florida in 1989. Known for blending traditional country with Latin, Tejano, and rockabilly influences, the group gained mainstream success in the 1990s with hits like "What a Crying Shame" and "All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down." Led by vocalist Raul Malo, the band has undergone several lineup changes but has maintained a distinctive sound that crosses genre boundaries. They have released multiple albums over three decades and continue to perform and record new music.
