Stone Sour is an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992. The group blends alternative metal, nu metal, and post-grunge styles, and is fronted by Corey Taylor, who is also known for his work with Slipknot. After an initial period of activity in the 1990s, the band went on hiatus before reuniting in the early 2000s. Stone Sour released several studio albums and achieved commercial success with singles such as "Through Glass" and "Bother." The band remained active until 2020, when they announced an indefinite hiatus following the departure of core members and shifting priorities among its lineup.
