Gang Starr was an influential American hip hop duo formed in Boston in 1985, consisting of rapper Guru and DJ Premier. The group became a cornerstone of the East Coast hip hop scene, known for their distinctive boom bap sound and socially conscious lyrics. Over their two-decade career, they released several critically acclaimed albums including Step in the Arena, Daily Operation, and Moment of Truth. Gang Starr disbanded following Guru's death in 2010, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence hip hop artists today.
