Bio

Judy Collins is an American singer-songwriter and musician whose career spans more than six decades. Emerging from the 1960s folk revival, she became known for her clear soprano voice and interpretive skill on both traditional folk material and contemporary songs by writers such as Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, and Bob Dylan. Her 1967 recording of “Both Sides Now” helped establish her as a leading figure in the folk and baroque-pop scenes. Beyond performing, Collins has recorded more than fifty albums, several of which earned gold or platinum certification. She has also worked as a political activist and author, publishing memoirs and children’s books while continuing to tour and release new music into the twenty-first century.
