Douglas Jack Agu, known professionally as Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer born on 19 August 1989 in Enugu. He rose to prominence in the mid-2010s with a string of Afrobeats singles that blended melodic hooks with contemporary production, establishing him as one of the leading voices in the genre's new wave. His breakthrough came with tracks such as "Gallardo" and the international hit "Mad Over You," which showcased his ability to fuse Afro-pop sensibilities with global appeal. Runtown has continued to release music independently, maintaining a presence across streaming platforms while collaborating with both African and international artists.
