Buckethead is an American guitarist and multi-instrumentalist born Brian Patrick Carroll on May 13, 1969, in Huntington Beach, California. He is known for his distinctive appearance, wearing a KFC bucket on his head and a white mask, and for his virtuosic, genre-spanning guitar playing that incorporates elements of rock, metal, funk, jazz, and experimental music. Over a career spanning more than three decades, Buckethead has released hundreds of albums, both solo and in collaboration with other artists. He has performed with Guns N' Roses, Praxis, and Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains, and maintains an extensive solo catalog characterized by rapid technical passages, atmospheric textures, and unconventional song structures.
