Bio
Yehudi Menuhin (1916–1999) was a British-American violinist and conductor renowned for his technical mastery and expressive interpretations of the classical and baroque repertoire. Born in New York to Russian-Jewish parents, he made his professional debut at age seven and quickly rose to international prominence, performing concertos by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms with leading orchestras worldwide. Beyond the concert stage, Menuhin championed music education and humanitarian causes. He founded the Yehudi Menuhin School in England and served as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, using his platform to promote cross-cultural understanding through music. His extensive discography, spanning more than seven decades, remains a cornerstone of the violin literature.
